|What is it?||A replica of a 1965 Shelby 427 Cobra (approximately – many variants of the original AC/Shelby Cobra were built. This car most closely approximates the 427 version.) This car was a "kit" manufactured by Factory Five Racing and assembled by me.|
|Engine Overview:||The engine is based on a 1960's Ford FE 427 side oiler used in the orignal 1965 427 Cobra. This is a modern version with all new parts, electronic fuel injection and other newer technologies. The only original Ford parts are the timing cover and harmonic damper sleeve/spacer.|
|Chassis/Frame:||Steel tube (round and square). Main frame rails are 4" .120" wall round tube|
|Suspension:||Front: double wishbone independent, coil spring over custom Koni double adjustable shocks
Rear: 5-link Watts style Ford 8.8, narrowed, 9" ends, Detroit TruTrac, coil spring over custom Koni double adjustable shocks, front/rear sway bars.
|Transmission:||5-speed manual Levy 9310 alloy T5|
|Clutch:||Quarter Master 8.5" dual disc low MOI|
|Brakes:||Front: Wilwood 13" disk, 6-piston fixed caliper.
Rear: Wilwood 12.1" disc, 4-piston fixed caliper, drum-in-hat emergency
Other: dual Wilwood master cylinders with cockpit adjustable balance bar. Hurst line lock on front brake circuit.
